Sample Ballots

Democratic Primary Ballots for Jackson County NC, June 7, 2016

  1. Registered Democrats (18 and over) in Jackson County will receive a ballot like the first one pictured below. While most Jackson County voters will use electronic voting machines, which may give the ballot slightly different formatting, this is the official sample ballot from the NC State Board of Elections.
  2. Unaffiliated registered voters–those who are not registered as Democrats but would like to vote for a Democratic candidate in the Primary Election–can choose to vote on the Democratic Primary Ballot (or one from another party). Or they can choose to vote on the Nonpartisan Primary Ballot, which does not include candidates for President, Congress, and other offices.
  3. Voters who are 17 years old, but will turn 18 in time for the November General Election, will receive ballots with only the partisan primary races.
