Election Day is almost upon us, but you don’t have to wait until November 8th to cast your vote.  Early “One-Stop” Voting starts Thursday, October 20th and continues through Saturday, November 5th.

Did you forget to register?  No problem!  You can register and vote in one trip during early voting.  Just make sure you have proof of your identity and residential address — a utility bill sent to you at your home works.  Tell the poll workers at the early voting polling place that you need to register first and they will guide you through it.  Once registered, you can proceed to cast your vote.

One-Stop registration and voting is ONLY available during Early Voting.  Do not wait until Election Day.

For the first week, October 20-October 26, Early Voting is available at the Jackson County Board of Elections offices on Skyline Drive.  They are open every day BUT Sunday.  On Thursday, October 27, five additional locations will be open:  Cherokee Wolftown, Savannah Community Center, WCU University Center, Cullowhee Rec Center and Cashiers Rec Center.  Hours vary by day and by location, so check the schedule first.  You can vote at any of these Early Voting locations.

When you arrive at your polling place, look around for the Jackson County Democratic Party table.  Most days there will be a volunteer there with information about candidates.  If you prefer to plan ahead, check out the Democratic Slate Card here.

See you at the polls!
