Joe Sam Queen Is Our Guest for the Last Meet the Candidates Session

Joe Sam Queen will be our guest for our last Meet the Candidate feature at our monthly meetings. He has served in both the NC Senate and House of Representatives and currently holds the seat to the 119th District of the House. The 119th encompasses all of Jackson and Swain Counties as well as part of Haywood.

The format will be as it has been for our previous candidate sessions: first part is a group of set questions, followed by questions from the floor, and ending with a lightning round of short answer simple queries. Our short business session will involve an update on the election, volunteer opportunities that are still open, and prospects for November. Traditionally, we do not meet in December.

Watch for the ZOOM invitation, which will go out the week of the meeting. There will also be an agenda and additional announcements in written format that goes out with that agenda. If you want to get the invitation, contact Cynthia Burke.

Joe Sam Queen Seeking Phone Bankers and Poll Greeters

Joe Sam Queen has a phone bank that is working out of the southern part of Jackson County. If you are interested in phone banking for him, contact Susan Bianchi. He’s also seeking poll greeters. The Jackson County Democratic Party will have poll greeters at all early voting sites handing out blue ballots and other candidate materials. Usually that means we have at least two people at those sites and sometimes candidates also have folks. If you aren’t working for the party and want to step up and work for Joe Sam Queen, let Penny Smith know.
