7:00 pm Friday Film Night with Democrats

August 14 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Elizabeth Heffelfinger, the film specialist on WCU’s faculty, has chosen three movies around a common theme and will lead ZOOM discussions of them. In order to get a ZOOM invitation as well as discussion notes, you’ll need to register for one or more of the three film nights. We’re asking for donations of $10 per film, which is approximately the cost of a night at a regular movie theatre, or $25 for the series. However, if money is an obstacle, then let us know and come anyway.

All the films will be available at headquarters for overnight self-check-out, beginning this coming weekend. Films are also available at our public library, which has a feature that allows you to stream movies and online through either Amazon Prime or Neflix. We’re asking participants to see the movies in advance of the discussion.

The films and dates are: BlacKkKlansman (August 14), I Am Not Your Negro (September 11) and Moonlight (October 9). So, mark your calendars, check out the flicks, heat up the popcorn, and grab a cold beverage before the discussion begins.

RSVP to Penny Smith at rerunsmith@frontier.com. You will be sent a blue envelope for your donations and be placed on the Zoom invitation.  You will also receive discussion notes.
